Apparatus
Newton's Ring Apparatus Reflection / Refraction Tank Stroboscope
Newton's Ring Apparatus
Used to study interference fringes due to sunlight or monochromatic light. Consist of a plano-convex lens (60mm diameter) and a optical polished flat glass plate mounted on a ring metal pressure frame.  Has three compression adjusting screws for proper centering of concentric circular Newton rings.
  No. SL430-AR.  Only $14.95
Reflection and Refraction Tank
This used is used to demonstrate the reflection and refraction of light between air and liquids and the total reflection of a ray in the liquids.  It consists of an acrylic tank, a 12V lamp and a 360 degree scale.  The side are made of black acrylic for optimum results.  With accessories it can be used to demonstrate the reflection of light in air.  Requires a 12V power source (not included).  10" long x 12.5" wide x 7.5" high.  Comes with instruction manual
  No. SL430-BA.  Only $109.95

Stroboscope

This hand-driven device is used to optically slow or completely stop any object in motion.  It is also used to measure the frequency of periodic motion. Consist of a black metal dial (250mm diameter) with a dozen evenly spaced radial slits extending to its edge, an axis hole for mounting a handle and finger hole.  Includes handle and mounting screw.
  No. SL430-AS.  Only $15.95
Spectrum Discharge Tubes
Used to show the spectral lines of pure substances.
These are glass tubes (28cm long) with a electrode seated at both ends.  These connect to lead wires protected by metal caps. provided with loops for electrical connection.   Requires either an induction coi5cm spark or a suitable transformer.  (not included).
When current is applied, the gas pressure results in well-defined emission spectra.  Mercury and helium tubes can be used as sources for experiments on the measurement of wave lengths of light. Neon and helium can be used as lamps, but not made for continual use, just brief demonstrations.
